Score eliminates emissions for Middle East client saving $1.4 million a year
Score’s client in the Middle East needed an emissions survey carried out to identify and quantify potential through-valve and external leakages contributing to emissions at their Degassing Plant.
Our client was concerned there may be process leakages on the multiple trains of their degassing stations. These trains play a critical role in separating and processing the complex mixture of oil and gas extracted from reservoirs.
Score surveyed 1,065 valves using Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras, portable methane leak detectors, compressed air leak detectors, and their proprietary MIDAS® Meter, which specialises in detecting internal through-valve leakage.
Near real-time analysis was carried out using ‘Operate’, the software platform they provide in partnership with asset55.
Impact
Score detected 70 leaks, including many with high risk of fugitive methane emissions and through- seat leakages to flare. The client raised work orders for repairs that Score executed during the upcoming turnaround, that has eliminated emissions that currently incur annual product losses estimated at $1.4 million USD.
